Terra Incognita
or, the World as we know it
The world is only as large- or as small- as we afford it to be. Through our expeditions beyond the comfort of our doorstep, to the wilds and the wilderlands, the edges of the map of our lives is only as rich as the passage which brings us there. In an ode to the elder explorers, to the mariners and the seekers of quest, to those who did not know where the world ends or another begins, I began this project as a reflection of the world as I knew it. Rather, as a portrait of life painted by the steps I have taken, of the mountains and the rivers, of the seas and portages and unknowns that, through a journey into the unknown, became just slightly less estranged.
